How to Defeat and Respawn the Ender Dragon

Respawning the Ender Dragon is a task that Minecraft players may want to do in order to have another chance to collect some of the valuable loot that can be found in the End dimension. While it may seem like a difficult or complicated process, it is actually quite simple. In this guide, we will walk through the steps to respawn the Ender Dragon.

Locate the End Portal

The first step in respawning the Ender Dragon is to locate the End Portal. This can be done by finding a Stronghold in the Overworld. Strongholds can be found by throwing an Eye of Ender, which can be crafted using Blaze Powder and an Ender Pearl, and following its direction until it floats and falls to the ground. The Eye of Ender will lead players to the nearest Stronghold.

Once the Stronghold is located, players will need to find the End Portal room within it. The End Portal is a circular structure made of End Portal Frames and is located in the center of the room.

Activate the End Portal

The second step is to activate the End Portal. To do this, players will need to place an Eye of Ender into each of the End Portal Frames. Once all twelve frames have an Eye of Ender in them, the End Portal will activate, and players can jump in to enter the End dimension.

Defeat the Ender Dragon

Once players have entered the End dimension, they will need to defeat the Ender Dragon in order to respawn it. The Ender Dragon can be found flying around the central island in the End dimension.

In order to defeat the Ender Dragon, players will need to destroy the Ender Crystals that are located on top of obsidian pillars surrounding the central island. These crystals heal the Ender Dragon and prevent players from damaging it. Once the crystals are destroyed, players can attack the Ender Dragon with weapons or bows.

Respawn the Ender

Dragon After the Ender Dragon has been defeated, players can respawn it by placing 4 End Crystals on the edges of the exit portal.
The End Crystals can be crafted using a Ghast Tear and an Eye of Ender. Once all four crystals have been placed, the Ender Dragon will respawn.

Crafting End Crystals

To craft End Crystals in Minecraft, you will need the following materials:
- 1 Eye of Ender
- 7 Glass blocks
- 1 Ghast Tear

Once you have these materials, follow these steps to craft an End Crystal:

  1. Open your crafting table: First, open your crafting table so that you have the 3x3 crafting grid.

  2. Place the materials in the crafting grid: In the crafting grid, place the Eye of Ender in the center slot, and surround it with Glass blocks in all eight surrounding slots. Finally, place the Ghast Tear in the bottom center slot.

Players can then fight the Ender Dragon again and collect more of its valuable loot, including the Dragon Egg and Elytra wings.

Place the End Crystals

Once you have all four End Crystals, head back to the End and locate the final game portal made out of bedrock. Place one End Crystal on each side of the portal, making sure that they are positioned in the middle of each of the four sides.

Be careful when placing the final crystal, as it will activate all the End Crystals, starting the process of regenerating the obsidian pillars.
So be ready to fight.

Common Issues

One common issue that players encounter is that the Ender Dragon does not spawn and the End Crystals do not activate. If this happens, check the placement of the crystals and make sure they are positioned in the middle of each of the four sides of the portal.
